Project 3 Process

For my project, I am animating a small bit of a comedy special with comedian Chris Rock. So far I've added the crying laughing emoji to the audience members faces. And I'm currently working on animating the tears. This is the screen recording of my process.  Rida Akram Project 3 Animation 193

Sita Sings the Blues

What I liked about this scene was the backdrop/background of trees - the trees show depth in this scene and how it was used as a prop for the characters. Also, the characters movements and motion was spot on. The arc usage for the characters in their movements was great. What I admired about this scene were the camera angles and the transitioning between scenes. The transitions in and out of scenes were so smooth and the camera panning was really good too. What I liked about this scene was the attention to detail to something considered so minute to the whole video was the butterfly. How it came into the scene and landed on her hand. Just how it truly depicted the motion of an actual butterfly and how the camera zooms in and out on it; Showing it how close it is then far.

Story of One Crime & Hedgehog in the Fog

For the S tory of One Crime , I really liked the scene where they show the characters waiting at the train station and instead of showing them getting on, they were fit into the frame of the train. I thought it was clever and shows so much in such little effort. For Hedgehog in the Fog, I liked the part when hedgehog is looking for his raspberry jam and uses a stick with a firefly at the end of it as a flashlight. We don't know it's a firefly until another firefly comes and they fly away together. It shows such a great use of his surroundings also subtle humor.

Understanding Comics

What I liked about this page was how well the images matched with what he was explaining. For example, when he talked about how people explain comic books to narrowly and draws himself squished between walls. And vice versa, when he talks broader terms. It makes it so much more appealing when the images are  consistent  with the storyline.

Story boarding of The Nightmare Before Christmas

Image
A part in the making of The Nightmare Before Christmas that struck me most was the storyboarding. When they were making the film they were going off drawn pictures and a storyline by Tim Burton. To actually bring the story and stop motion movie to life they had to map and storyboard it before they even started animating. They drew images of every scene/frame, every action, every facial expression, every camera shot, and angle. The storyboard was their visual script of how everything should look and what comes next. I feel like the storyboarding was their road map for the entire movie.
